The Governing Body plays a key role in ensuring that Laerskool De Aar runs smoothly and efficiently, and in the development of policies regarding issues such as language, religious instruction, school fees, and a code of conduct for learners.

The school governing body is responsible for:

  • Improving the quality of education

  • Ensuring good governance

  • Ensuring that Laerskool De Aar serves the interests of the community and meets parents’ expectations

  • Combating racism, sexism, and all other forms of unfair discrimination and intolerance

  • Working diligently to ensure quality education at Laerskool De Aar

Parental Involvement

Every parent has the opportunity to create possibilities and opportunities for all learners by participating in the Governing Body elections. It is the responsibility of each parent to show interest and have a say in the management of Laerskool De Aar to ensure that the highest quality education is provided to all learners. Get involved in your child’s schooling and make a difference at Laerskool De Aar.

The Governing Body is obliged to make policies that:

  • Allow all South African children to enter the school system

  • Promote values of anti-racism and equality between boys and girls

  • Help communities respect all religions and cultures in our country

  • Encourage learners to speak a variety of the country’s languages

  • Respect learners’ rights and resolve problems in a safe and peaceful manner
