OUR SCHOOL

Laerskool De Aar’s dedicated staff, involved parents, and positive-minded learners ensure success in all areas of education. We are a parallel-medium school with Afrikaans and English as languages of instruction. All learners at Laerskool De Aar are taught, educated, and equipped with Christian values in an excellent manner so that one day each of them can live a balanced and dignified life as an adult in society.

OUR VALUES

Laerskool De Aar upholds a Christian worldview based on the following values: faith, respect, integrity, discipline, honesty, and sportsmanship. These values are symbolized by different flags that are raised weekly during assembly, as well as discussed and displayed in the weekly newsletter. The school’s corridors are also decorated with wire ornaments that depict the various values.

MISSION

To educate learners in such a way that their personal lives will reflect their relationship with their Creator, and that their way of life will demonstrate sound values and a positive outlook on life.
To maintain a high standard of education so that learners can develop academically to their full potential.
To provide a well-balanced extracurricular program through which the educational process can continue outside the classroom, and where the right attitudes between coach, referee, teammates, and opponents can be cultivated.
To instill the virtues of neatness, discipline, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility.
To instill a love for one’s own culture and patriotism, while also recognizing and respecting the viewpoints and customs of others.
To work in partnership with parents in the educational process in the best interest of the learners.
To create an environment in which educators and learners can experience happiness, contentment, and security.
To enable every educator to live out the professionalism of their vocation in a dignified manner.
To provide affordable education by managing the school administratively and financially in such a way that maximum benefit is gained from the available resources.

HOW DO WE ACHIEVE THIS GOAL?

A disciplined school environment must be created to promote positive discipline, to teach learners and educators self-discipline, and to establish exemplary behavior, as well as to build a partnership of mutual trust between parent, child, and school.
Each parent of Laerskool De Aar commits to cultivating a sense of responsibility in learners and to treating the educators and management with the necessary respect.

As a learner of De Aar Primary School I shall honor the Lord.
